6th Grade Fiction Reading
This 6th grade fiction reading course includes four units each using a different excerpt of an interactive read aloud for the different skills. There are a total of 40 lessons which include a quiz at the end of each unit and a final exam.
In each of the lessons, I begin by modeling the learning target for the students by thinking aloud. As I progress through the lesson, I gradually release their responsibility for each of the skills. This method helps students become familiar with the skill and feel more confident as they move to their independent practice.
