I have been helping students learn math since I was in 5th grade. That year, I had a teacher who was tenured and did not teach us anything. He would just go to the board and write the assignment and then sit back down. Luckily, I was able to figure out how to do the problems from the examples in the book. The other students noticed and asked me for help. I have been helping others learn math ever since. Even though most of the students I taught over my 10+ years of teaching in a classroom setting did not like math. Most of them noted that I made it more understandable for them. I love it when previous students come up to me and thank me for helping them to be better at math.
