Hey there. Regarding what you're looking to get, I think that you may want to review reading lessons or a California reading curriculum that is accredited either at the state or national level instead than being based only on California's reading curriculum. This is because is that a good deal of students often apply to schools including out of state. See for example: sixth grade quality lessons.

Personally I honestly think that it may be a better approach if you're looking to get a reading homeschool curriculum or an accredited California reading course, to look at options that may go above and beyond your state's. I would start here: sixth grade lessons and resources. Best of luck homeschooling!
