MozartMath is founded upon the assumption of the Multiple Intelligence Theory that children are "smart" in different ways and should be taught through a variety of techniques. The lessons take what most children feel is one of their best "smarts"--music--and link it with another "smart"--math. This approach strengthens both "smarts." Children are motivated to learn when they see the real-world application of knowledge. In MozartMath, the real-world application is the creation of music.

Linguistic intelligence: (word smart): lyrics to children's songs teach new concepts, focus on new vocabulary, storytelling

Logical-mathematical intelligence: (number/reasoning smart) numerals, ordinals, note-value exercises, classifying and grouping, analyzing data

Spatial intelligence: (picture smart) pictures of Music Box Buddies, graphing, relative position activities, puzzles, memory games

Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence: (body smart) playing rhythm patterns, beat patterns, art activities, using manipulatives, actions to songs

Musical intelligence: (music smart) singing, learning songs, playing rhythm patterns, playing along with classical music, classifying songs as fast/slow

Interpersonal intelligence: (people smart) playing duets and trios

Intrapersonal intelligence: (self smart) individual projects, self-evaluation of work
