Course Overview

This "Personal Fitness 5th-9th Grade"  video course is designed to provide an experience for the participants that will give them the knowledge and desire to establish personal health and fitness goals. The content covers criteria necessary to earn Physical Education semester credit. The course provides safe, challenging and enjoyable activities that will allow students to assess and evaluate their lifestyles. There is little need for any additional equipment other than a basic stopwatch, measuring tape and scale. Participants will have a wide variety of options to incorporate into their exercise routines. A benefit of this course includes students being able to base their program on their personal goals and available resources compared to a traditional classroom where everyone participates in the same routine.

Course Goals

Upon course completion, students will have an encompassing experience in fitness and the relationship to health. Participants will develop and participate in personalized fitness routines to help accomplish defined goals. Students will be able to carry their knowledge and experience well past the course end date to continue to develop their personalized fitness plans, healthy eating habits, effective stress management techniques and much more.
