This course is designed to provide your child with the opportunity to develop a foundation of varied art skills, techniques, and concepts.  By traveling to various countries and time periods, they will get a taste of other cultures and how different arts and crafts were created, along with what they were actually used for.  A small history lesson will be provided before introducing a step by step guide to the arts and crafts related to the history lesson.  The course will include attachments to help guide them through the craft for future use, along with links to virtual museum tours of the places we visit.  Art is an expression of our creative skills and imagination.  We will explore the many branches of creative activity through painting, weaving, drawing, and much more.  The target age group is kindergarten thru second grade, but is fun for any elementary aged child.

  • Areas of expertise: Pre-K thru 6th
  • Education: University of Phoenix-BSIT, Alternative Teaching Certificate through Region III
  • Interests: I thoroughly enjoy children, teaching, and the love of learning.
  • Skills: Special training in elementary grade level classes.
  • Associations: Licensed Teacher in Texas. Pre-K teacher for 7 years and Kindergarten teacher for 3.
  • Issues I care about: I care about children growing in a loving environment where they are motivated to thrive and develop goals.

My love of children started at a young age being the oldest of six kids. When I became a mother, I then learned the love of being a mother. When I began teaching other children, I learned the love of my "extended" children through the classroom. It is a true joy to see them grow and watch their many successes.
