Hey there, Homeschooled children in Texas meet graduation requirement upon determination by the parent. As a matter of law, compulsory attendance of a student until the age of 17 is required in Texas and after that, parents are at liberty to determine the requirements for when the high schooler will receive a diploma.

All fifty states including Texas allow a parent to issue a homeschool diploma for their own student. Employers in Texas are not permitted to discriminate against a homeschool diploma or give preference to a candidate whose diploma issued by a public school. Many colleges in Texas and elsewhere actively make an effort to recruit homeschooled students.
