Question about Lernsys copyright

I need some tips. I am somewhat new to online homeschooling. I am thinking of making copies of a couple of pages from a science book for geography for middle school curriculum I need for 8th grade. Do I actually need to get copyright or trademark permission from the author before I do this?

. I think you are legally allowed to copy up to 10% as long as it is for teaching and not for commercial purposes.- Allie-1972

If it's for teaching, scholarship or research, you should be OK. I honestly think that it's permitted. Good luck with your homeschool undertaking.

I think if it's under ten percent that you are copying, it is permitted by law but I am not a copyright attorney.
