Question about accreditted math curriculum

  Elisa-homeschool » Mon, 20 Jul 2020 15:08:41 PM

Because we live in Alberta, does anyone know if it makes more sense to study based on Alberta's curriculum, or should we consider a curriculum for math based on a nationally accredited math curriculum? I would appreciate it if anyone with homeschool experience can give some insight.

Hello there.homeschool-placer My impression is that you may want to check out either any province or nationally recognized math curriculum instead of only Alberta accredited math curriculum. A nationally recognized math course will open many more doors.

As a parent in Alberta who also homeschools, I can tell you that you probably want to get either a nationally certified math curriculum or a province accredited math curriculum. This will give your child more opportunities in the future. I am happy to have chosen Lernsys for my kiddo's homescholing needs.

Our family is also in Alberta and after much research we decided to get a self-paced math curriculum from a province certified instructor. There are several math courses here by certified math teachers: https://www.lernsys.com/en/math-courses.
