Course Overview
Spanish 1 - A Language with Many Cultures is an introductory/intermediate course. The main objective of the course is to provide you with the necessary tools to speak and interact in Spanish. This course has been designed to be a practical course. You will learn to speak the Spanish language while also learning some of the interesting cultural characteristics of the many countries in which this magnificent language is spoken. The course has a grammatical component, a practical component, and a cultural component. It is also an entertaining course. You will discover different Spanish dance rhythms, learn to cook a Spanish dish and create some Spanish craft items like papagayo.

The Course Includes:
1) 40 Video Lessons
- Each lesson is broken down into:
o Introduction – Review of previous lesson
o New vocabulary
o Written, Oral and/or Listening Comprehension exercises to practice the learned material
o Cultural description of a Spanish Speaking Country
2) 40 digital booklets with exercises that work in conjunction with each video lesson
3) 40 digital booklets with answer keys for each work booklet.
4) 7 Review Video lessons to practice and reinforce the learn material
5) 7 Digital Modules exams with answer keys for parents’ support
6) 38 Mini – Cultural video lessons about the following countries: Spain, Equatorial Guinea, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, & Venezuela

Course Goals:
Through this course, students will gain vocabulary and grammatical structures that will allow them to communicate orally and in written form in Spanish.
They will learn about interesting facts, cultural traditions, and values from different Spanish speaking countries.
Target Audience:
This course is designed for middle and high school students who have an interest in learning the Spanish language and in developing the tools to communicate and interact in an effective manner.
