Course Overview

This “Marketing 101” video course covers all of the content students need to fundamentally understand the basics of marketing and introduces foundational terms such as the marketing mix or the 4P's of marketing. Thereafter, the course explores the three phases of marketing, Planning Phase (considerations in establishing a brand and visual identity, developing a niche or positioning in the marketplace, market research, market segmentation to define a target market /avatar, performing a SWOT analysis and assessing industry trends to further hone your a Unique Value Proposition (UVP) and pricing your product or service); Positioning Phase (considerations in determining the right distribution channel, assessing placement strategies, identifying and analyzing market trends and conditions); Promotion Phase (establishing a deigital presence, selecting marketing strategies, crafting messaging, creating and executing campaigns, establishing campaign outcomes and metrics, initiating a social media presence and content calendar, communicating with the media and more). It is a foundational prep course for students who wish to study marketing beyond the high school level.
